1875
John Mueller Company founded in Lockland, Ohio. The company originally supplied a wide variety of products to customers all over the Cincinnati area. With a convenient location right on the railroad track in Lockland, OH, we were able to distribute bricks, cements, plaster and other building supplies while operating four vast coal yards.
1913
New state-of-the-art grain mill was built.
It now serves as our corporate offices.
1920
Company expands into roofing industry.
1950
Columbia Roofing, a new roofing branch is initiated.

1970
Throughout the 1970’s and 80’s, Mueller Roofing Distributors passed through the hands of John Mueller, grandson of the founder, and then in the 1990’s Herbert J. Mueller, great-grandson of the founder.
1975
Mueller Roofing Distributors was incorporated.
1980
Great-grandson Herbert J. Mueller takes ownership of growing company.
1985
Queensgate Branch is opened to focus exclusively on commercial roofing.
1992
Dayton, Ohio Branch is opened.
1996
Mueller expands to Louisville, Kentucky.
1998
Mueller Roofing acquires the Covington, Kentucky Branch to enable quality and convenient service.
2001
P & W Roofing in Fairborn, Ohio is acquired.
2003
Mueller acquires Quality Aluminum Products, expanding its product lines to include siding and windows.
2006
Mueller continues to thrive on the same principles that have guided family business for over 130 years. The company has grown significantly under Herb Mueller’s leadership, acquiring new branches and expanding their product line to include siding and windows and other building products.
2007
The Tri-State Area Safety Council held their 2nd Annual Awards Program, sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. Mueller Roofing was presented with the 100% Award. This award is presented to members that work the entire year without an injury or illness resulting in a day away from work.
This was quite an achievement taking into consideration that there are 5 locations including our corporate offices in the state of Ohio. Safety and Customer Service are very important at Mueller.
